In 2018, we once again return to the beautiful city of Budapest for a tour dedicted to Wagner. This special Wagner experience is a rare opportunity for opera lovers to hear Wagner's classic operas in unique adaptations tailored to the wonderful Béla Bartók National Concert Hall in Budapest’s Palace of the Arts.

This year’s Budapest Wagner Days focuses on renewal and diversity, featuring in 2018 instead of the Ring trilogy three other monumental music dramas of the iconic composer will be performed. The twelve-year history of this opera festival has seen the staged performances of every great opera of Wagner and each year the festival has featured performers regarded as the best interpreters of Wagner’s art.  Our 2018 tour includes two performances; the modernised interpretation of Tannhäuser, directed by Matthias Oldag, with Tünde Szabóki alongside the excellent American heldentenor Stephen Gould in the title role and a new performance of the enchanting love story of Tristan and Isolde, directed by notable figure of the Italian theatre scene Cesare Lievi, with singers such as former Metropolitan star Robert Dean Smith and accomplished Wagner singer Anja Kampe. Festival artistic director and conductor is Ádám Fischer.

Budapest is one of the most magnificent cities in Europe.  It is an enchanting city with beautiful palaces and castles. See the city sights on a city tour as you are chauffeured along Budapest's elegant boulevards to Heroes’ Square, and vist the historical Parliament. Look out over the famous river dividing Buda and Pest - the two sides linked by the Chain and Elizabeth Bridges. During your free time, perhaps take time to spend the afternoon at the popular pedestrian shopping street of Váci utca where the city’s fine museums and monuments, churches and synagogues, historic squares and buildings are within easy reach or enjoy a relaxing visit to one of Budapest's famous thermal baths, literally an institution in Budapest!

This Tour sold out fast in 2016 and 2017, so early booking is recommended
