New Year in Budapest, 30 December 2018


Celebrate the New Year in style in the beautiful Budapest, one of the most magnificent cities in Europe. Admire the magnificent architecture of Hungary’s parliament building, walk the famous Andrásy Avenue – starting from the historic Heroes Square and stretching almost as far as the St Stephen's Basilica. See the city sights on a city tour as you are chauffeured along Budapest's elegant boulevards to Heroes’ Square, across the mighty Danube and up to Gellert Hill. Look out over the famous river dividing Buda and Pest - the two sides linked by the Chain and Elizabeth Bridges. Visit the Castle District and enjoy the amazing views from the Fisherman’s Bastion over the exquisite Parliament building, one of the largest in Europe.   During your free time, take time to spend the afternoon at the popular pedestrian shopping street of Váci Utca where the city’s fine museums and monuments, churches and synagogues, historic squares and buildings are within easy reach or enjoy a relaxing visit to one of Budapest's famous thermal baths, literally an institution in Budapest!

Day 1

Arrive in Budapest and transfer to the 4*+ Moments Budapest Hotel located in the center of Budapest on the site of the legendary Spa Hungária and within walking distance of popular sight‘s such as Hungarian National Museum, St. Stephen's Basilica, Szechenyi Chain Bridge and Hungarian State Opera House. This 4.5-star hotel has 272 guestrooms and offers an outdoor pool, an indoor pool, and free in-room WiFi. Located in central Budapest, the hotel is also near.

A rich buffet breakfast is served in the on- Bistro Fine restaurant which also offers local and international dishes.  Budapest’s main attractions are all within walking distance with St. Stephen's Basilica an approximate 3-minute walk from the hotel Moments Budapest.

Afternoon at leisure

Start your evening with wine tasting at the Cultivin Wine Gallery, Hungary's Premium Wine Tasting Experience followed by dinner at the Seasons Bistro. Day 2

This morning join your local guide for a guided city tour of Budapest. Your sightseeing tour pass all the main attractions of Budapest including Heroes’ Square, the Hungarian Parliament Building, St. Stephen’s Basilica, and the Hungarian State Opera House.

In the early evening, meet your local guide for transfer to Callas Café Restaurant for a 6-course celebratory New Year’s Eve Gala dinner at the Callas Café Restaurant, located next to the Opera House. Designed by architect Vilmos Freund in Neo-renaissance style in 1880, the building, which is a national monument today, was completed one year before the opening of the Hungarian Opera House. Today, it is one of Budapest’s most prominent restaurants.

Day 3

Today’s journey to the Danube Bend, visiting the historical towns - of Visegrad, with its medieval citadel and romantic ruins of the former royal residence and the Baroque artists' village of Szentendre. Today’s tour also includes a three-course lunch at Visegrad’s Reneissance Restaurant.

We return to Budapest after lunch and you have the afternoon free for independent sightseeing.

This evening, dinner is served at the hotel followed by coach transfer to the Palace of the Arts for

their New Years Day Concert.

Transfer to Budapest airport for your homeward journey.

Booking deposit is €350 pp.  Balance is due 10 weeks prior to departure date.  No credit card charge on deposit payments. 

Hand Luggage

One standard piece of hand luggage is included in your tour price. (10 kilos). Checked in luggage is available to purchase prior to travel, prices may vary. Please note this must be booked with a minimum of 14 days prior to travel. Bags booked within 14 days prior to travel will incur an administration fee of €25 per piece.
