Enjoy four-days in cultural Barcelona, Spain's most cosmopolitan city and one of the Mediterranean's busiest ports. The city’s old centre constitutes one of the greatest concentrations of Gothic architecture in Europe. The city also features some of the world's more bizarre buildings and surreal spectacles capped by Antoni Gaudí's Sagrada Família Basilica. On this tour, you will see the city sights, visit the famous Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell, enjoy an excursion to Girona and Figures with a visit to the famous Dali Museum. In your free time, enjoy the many museums on offer, do some shopping or simply relax and enjoy the city. During the tour, attend an opera performance in the stunning Gran Teatre Liceu.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Barcelona

Your tour will start with a morning flight to Barcelona. Flying with Aer Lingus, departing Dublin at 06:40 you arrive in Barcelona at 10:10.

On arrival in Barcelona, meet your local guide for private coach to the 4* St.Motitz Hotel. The 4* St.Moritz hotel is located in a listed 19th-century building just five minutes’ walk from Gaudí’s Casa Batlló. The hotel features modern, air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. A varied buffet breakfast is served daily, and you can enjoy a range of Mediterranean dishes for dinner in the St Gallen Restaurant, where menus use fresh, seasonal produce. There is also a terrace and a lounge bar.

The Metro Station is just a 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel, and Plaza de Catalunya and Las Ramblas are one stop away.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure and we suggest that you visit the famous Las Ramblas. This lively street is lined with restaurants, flower stalls, musicians and mime artists making for a very eventful afternoon.

Day 2

Barcelona City Tour and Opera

After breakfast, depart on your guided tour of this fascinating city. See the gothic quarter which contains the cathedral – one of Spain’s most outstanding buildings, the district of Ribera containing a collection of 14th century mansions housing the Picasso museum and much more.Without doubt, the highlight of this morning’s tour is skip the line visit to the Sagrada Familia Basilica, the finest example of Gaudi’s genius and one of the world’s great buildings.

This evening, dine in a local restaurant before attending the evening performance of Un Ballo in Maschera (A Masked Ball) by Giuseppe Verdi in the stunning Gran Teatre Liceu.

Day 3

Girona and Figures

After breakfast, depart Barcelona for a full day excursion to Girona and Figures. The small town of Girona, is most known as being home to Europe’s largest Jewish Quarter. Wander among the narrow shady streets, old stone buildings, stairways and fine old plazas and visit the stunning cathedral with Europe’s widest nave and intricate stained glass. We then take the short drive to Figures where you will visit the unique Dalí Museum, which houses the largest collection of artworks of Salvador Dalí.

Day 4

Return flight

Today you have the day free to explore as you wish. In the evening, coach transfer to Barcelona Airport for your return flight. Aer Lingus flight departs Barcelona 22:55 and arrives Dublin 00:40. Please note that flight times are subject to change at the airlines discretion.
