Itinerary

Day 1 Amsterdam

On arrival, you will be transferred to the port for boarding. After comfortably settling into your cabin, you’ll be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail. The evening is free to enjoy on board or to take an evening stroll through enchanting Amsterdam. Optional evening canal boat tour offered. Later that evening sail towards Kinderdijk through the night.

Day 2 Kinderdijk – Rotterdam – Nijmegen

A chance to explore Kinderdijk, or to join an optional excursion to visit the windmills of Kinderdijk on foot. Cruising in the afternoon.

Day 3 Nijmegen – Cologne

Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands, the first to be recognized as such in Roman times, and in 2005 celebrated 2,000 years of existence. Option tours offered to visit Kröller Müller museum or enjoy a great bike ride through the De Hoge Veluwe National Park.

Day 4 Cologne – Koblenz

Today we visit the city of Cologne. The wonderful part of river cruising is that you are docked in the heart of the city so step off and explore sights such as Cologne Cathedral, known for its gilded medieval reliquary and sweeping river views. The adjacent Museum Ludwig showcases 20th-century art, including many masterpieces by Picasso, and the Romano-Germanic Museum houses Roman antiquities. Afternoon cruising

Day 5 Koblenz – The Romantic Rhine – Rudesheim – Boppard

This morning will be spent cruising. When we arrive in Rudesheim you can opt to visit the city yourself or join us on one of our optional excursions to visit the famous vineyards of the region along with sightseeing. Later that afternoon we cruise to Boppard where we’ll arrive after dinner so you can set off and explore this city by night.

Day 6 Boppard – Dusseldorf

This morning will be spent cruising before arriving in Dusseldorf. A full free day to visit this city and enjoy the Rhine embankment promenade. Later that evening we cruise to Amsterdam.

Day 7 Dusseldorf – Amsterdam

Our final full day is spent in Amsterdam giving you plenty of time to visit the cities many famous bridges and Dam Square or opt for an optional excursion to the Keukenhof gardens. Tonight is our gala dinner and evening.

Day 8 Amsterdam

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking and transferring to the airport for your return flight.

The 5 Anchor MS Gerard Schmitter accommodates 174 passengers and offers spacious and comfortable cabins equipped with two beds (with optional twin-bed configuration), private bathroom with shower and bath products, telephone, satellite TV, safe, hairdryer, air-conditioning, radio and wardrobe with hangers. Located at the main deck it offers a panoramic view.

Facilities: lounge-bar with a dance floor – bar – dining room – large sundeck with deckchairs – lift – terrace – gift shop. Central heating, 230 V electricity, air-conditioning, radar, TV and video in the lounge, wifi on board.
